About Me

My photo
Sue
Banks, Oregon, United States
My name is Sue Hauser and I am the owner of Alderwood Quilts, a web-based quilt shop. I grew up in Philadelphia, where I married my high school sweetheart. We lived in Texas for 6 years and then settled in the Pacific Northwest, where we have lived for 28 years. We now make our home on 2 acres in Banks, just outside of Portland. Banks is a very small town nestled in the foothills of the Pacific coast range. We have a small lavender farm and a lovely view of rolling hills and farmland. Our family includes 2 grown sons, their wonderful wives and 2 delightful granddaughters. Three grand-dogs round out our extended family. I have been sewing since I was 12 years old- making all of my own clothes as a girl. Now, I buy most of my clothes because I want to spend my sewing time making quilts! I discovered quilting about 20 years ago and never looked back. There are just so many ways to cut beautiful fabric into little pieces and sew them back together again! When I'm not quilting, gardening, or playing with the grands, I love to knit, cook, and do paper crafting.
