The winner of the blog giveaway book is Susan Cahill of Niagra Falls, NY. Everyone who commented on a posting on the blog or who send me an email is getting a fat quarter and Susan will also receive a book. I'm sending her a copy of America From the Heart.
We're enjoying a relaxing New Year's Day here at home alone. It's a good time to get the decorations put away, and I have to finish up my year-end inventory. I received my very first internet order last January 12th, so I am coming up on my one-year anniversary with the website. It has be a wild ride this first year! I am looking forward to 2009. I have learned so much in 2008, and I welcome the opportunity to learn and grow even more in '09.
I'll be back to blogging later on today- I have photos, another fun giveaway, and a project of the month to tell you about. I just wanted to check in and congratulate Susan and wish you all a VERY happy new year!!!

HAPPT NEW YEAR! I hope 2009 brings you everything you want and more.
Thanks, Brenda! And you keep quilting! Now that you've finished one quilt, you can join the rest of us and start several and have a bunch in progress and a bunch ready to get started- and not know which one to work on! Happy New Year!
Say everyone, I just found the greatest blog. It has a link to other blogs that are having giveaways from 1/1-15. Most of the prizes are quilting related. Of course everything relates to quilts right? http://whirlintowinter.blogspot.com
What fun! Have you ever checked out the Fab Shop Network? They have shop hops running almost every month. You go through the list of sites and find a hidden "bunny". Then you are in a drawing for various prizes. I participate in several shop hops a year through the Fab Shop Network.
Oh yeah! and Quilt Dash and AniLee's Treasure Hunt LOL It's a wonder I ever get any sewing done!
Just finished making a grab bag using the pattern from allpeoplequilt.com quarterly challenge 3. It's cute and just right for those times you don't need that everything but the kitchen sink type of bag. ;0)
I am so thrilled to win and I have been having such a nice email conversation with Sue about Project Linus. Thanks again Sue.

As I busily click bunnies at Fab Shop Hop, I myself wonder how we find time to sew! It's because of the Hop that I found Sue. Such an amazing gift she has, to be able to explain paper piecing in words on line! I hope one day to have a picture to post on the gallery.
Happy New Year to all.
I'm a little behind on my blogging, but I'll be writing about Project Linus and paper piecing, as well as color/fabric selection soon!
Happy Anniversary! It's been fun to watch your progress and success grow every step of the way. Looking forward to classes, seminars, and more great quilting opportunities. When will you be organizing a weekend event? I'd love to attend one of those... :)
Thanks, Cristi- I can hardly believe that Alderwood Quilts has been online for a year!!! When I get classes going, you'll be the first to know! I'll make a quilter out of you one of these days!!!
