Giveaway for opinions!
We're looking at modifications to the Alderwood Quilts website. Many customers comment on the look and ease of use of the site, but we're always looking at ways to improve to serve YOU better!
I placed a poll to the right- could you please do me a favor and add your opinion? Currently, we don't ask customers to "scroll down" to view products. But we are adding to inventory, and that will mean that you will sometimes have several pages to work through to see all of the products in that category. Would you rather scroll down a long page, or page through several pages without having to scroll down? I don't want people to miss things lower down on a page, but I don't want people to miss things on other pages, either. Which is easier for you?
We will also be tweaking the home page sometime after the holidays. No big changes are planned, but we'll just make a few little changes to make it more fun for you to visit the website. If you have any comments or suggestions- either praise or "constructive"- I really would like to hear it. I'd also like to hear what fabric lines you would like to see us carry. Have some opinions? Bring em' on!
Call me during the day (Pacific Time) at 503-324-9400 or send me an email.
To give you a little incentive, I'm doing a giveaway. If you reply to this post, call, or send me an email with feedback about our website, you'll be entered in the giveaway. The lucky winner will receive a "Fresh Sunflower Wreaths" pattern and a pack of 8 fat quarters from the Serendipity Sunflower collection. I'll do a random drawing on September 14th. Even though the drawing ends on September 14th, I always appreciate feedback.
And- speaking of entering my giveaways- I was asked if you could win more than once. SURE! If you've already won one of my giveaways, your chances are as good as anyone's to win again.
Can't wait to hear from YOU!

I like to see websites "tweaked". I also like shorter webpages, where you can either page through, or show them all on one page, or 2. And please remember, not everyone has high-speed internet - dial-ups are very slow, and satellite internet has download limits, so a lot of us have decisions to make when we view webpages! LOL!
Thanks!
I voted! :0)
I look forward to your tweaking! Sometimes a little change can be a very good thing! :0)
What an interesting question, I have never really thought about which I prefer but giving it some thought I think I prefer to see one page at a time. I think when I have to scroll down I tend to not concentrate as much and end up missing some items.
Good luck with your changes, whatever you do I'm sure it will be wonderful.

Hi Sue,
I voted. I really would rather see all in one page, mostly because I really don't like to have to "turn the page". I sometimes don't realize that there is more (or next). Hope you get the info you need.
I love seeing tweaks in terms of layouts and color. I can't wait to see what you do with the webpage. As for my preference - I'm fine either way but I do prefer everything on one page since sometimes I miss that there may be more than one page. If you do go to several pages, would it be possible to clearly identify that this may be page 1 or page 2 of however many. Some sites have the page numbers so tiny that you can even barely see them. Thanks for asking for our input!
I voted too: I prefer the no scroll and flip pages...DSL is great! WHen I was on dialup...oh boy..:( I would like to see items listed either with the newest stuff always first or last, so that when I return to a site I can see quickly what is new since my last visit. Also, on clearance or sale pages, list in order of price, low to high.
With having dial-up I like when I can look at one thing then click on a link to take me to the next thing.
Have fun redoing the site.

Cleary K.
I don't generally like to scroll down really really long pages, but I like the format where you can scroll down a reasonable amount and then move on to the next page. Perhaps with the option "see all choices on one page" that I've run into, where the 'puter will give you all 27 pages on one page if you want. I like pages labeled (1 of 3) because otherwise I can miss the rest of the pages. I don't like web sites that, if you order something and then return to shop some more, throw you back up to the top of the page instead of where you left off. Will e-mail you with some other thoughts.
Brenda
Thanks so much to ALL OF YOU who are sending me your thoughts. In addition to the comments on this blog post, I've had several emails. I'm learning a lot about what you want to see on a website. You're all entered in the drawing. Thanks, again, and keep the comments coming!
I voted. It will be interesting to see how you tweak your site.

I voted - I like to see products on one page, I don't mind how many there are, must be lazy I suppose.....
I like to be able to see all the products on one page. Your website is very easy to move around in.
Cecelia- we currently have 10 products to a page. If there are more than 10, and you can't see them all on the screen at the same time, would you rather scroll down for the 11th product, or go to the next page for it?
Thanks to EVERYONE for your comments and emails!!! Keep them coming! I REALLY want to hear what you have to say! And yes- you're all entered in the giveaway.
